Our Services

Resin/Ceramic Fillings

There are 3 types of fillings in dentistry, Amalgam, Composite (resin) and Ceramic.
Amalgam (silver fillings) contain mercury, a chemical that has been proven toxic to humans. Therefor it is rarely used in modern dental practices today.  These filling cause discolouration of the surrounding tooth structure as well as other health risks.
At Gentle Dental Ruimsig we perform metal-free dentistry and recommend composite/ceramic fillings to all our patients.  They are extremely strong and aesthetically pleasing.

Teeth Whitening

A fast, simple and immediate way to get the bright, dazzling smile you’ve always wanted.  The procedures are safe, and we do our best to choose a system that will suit your budget.
The tray whitening system is less expensive, but just as effective, the only difference being the results      are more gradually achieved / not immediate.
Custom made invisible trays are made into which the whitening gel is applied and inserted into your mouth.  The tray is then worn during the day or night, results are only visible within 10 days.   This is an ideal system for maintaining your bright smile after the in-office whitening procedure.
The “Zoom” whitening system is our system of choice as it encompasses the latest technology and the best results immediately.  The LED light accelerates the whitening process, you can get a whiter smile in within an hour!

Invisalign uses a series of nearly invisible removable alligners to straighten your teeth.  These alligners are custom made for your requirements.

Crowns are “caps” that are placed over your damaged tooth structure.  They appear so natural and healthy that you cannot often identify the crowned tooth.  Crowns are recommended when there is insufficient tooth structure left to hold a filling, especially in root canal treated teeth.  They can also be used to place old unaesthetically pleasing fillings.

Veneers – Resin/Ceramic

A veneer is a thin layer of porcelain or resin which is made to fit onto the existing tooth.  It is made to match your tooth shape and colour or change your tooth shape and or colour as needed to create a more aesthetically pleasing smile.

Bridges are used to close spaces/gaps where teeth are missing due to extractions or trauma, etc. These gaps are usually to small for an implant to be placed or in cases where the bone is not strong enough to maintain an implant.  The tooth on either side of the gap are used as anchorage and attached to the missing tooth which is specifically made for your mouth.  This is then cemented permanently into place.  It can also be used in patients where their health does not permit us to do the surgery required for implants.
